I would have liked to see difficulty levels, such as easy, normal, and hard, in which the hunger meter did not decrease as quickly or a mode that would never decrease it but rather decrease the damage taken. This happened at the start of the game so I did find this to be annoying.

At times, I found it quite frustrating when my character died, not knowing why he did, and then not told how to replenish my health bar. Although there is more than one route available to complete the game, I felt that there was not enough variation to make myself try the different routes.Īs with games in this genre, even those in the NES era, the developers needed to balance fun and difficulty. Although not impossible, without the more powerful mounts and weapons, you might have a very difficult time. Gems you collect are used to buy items which you will need for the later stages. Mounts do add an extra bar to your health bar, as you can jump higher, run faster, swim, fly or walk across fire. At the same time, taking hits from enemies causes your meter to drop at a faster rate. Your character’s health and hunger meters are combined into one bar which depletes quite quickly, so you will need to move quickly through the level to find food items that will replenish your health while you battle enemies and dodge traps. If you manage to finish a mission, you keep everything you earned however, if you fail…YOU LOSE IT ALL!!
You can even find dinosaurs you can mount and other items with gems you collect through missions. You start off with rocks, axes, and then progress to boomerangs.
